MS. ROMERO'S WEBPAGE
Hello and Welcome!
My name is Lucille (Lucy) B. Romero. I have been a teacher of biology here at Garfield High School for 40 years. I am proud to say that I am one of many family members who have graduated from this fine school. It all started with 1940’s and have had family members graduating every decade until 2001. Three generations of family are alumni of James A. Garfield High School. We are indeed a Garfield Bulldog Family. In addition to being a proud bulldog I am also very proud of being a graduate from the University of Southern California (USC), where I graduated with a BS in Biological Science and with a minor in Anthropology-go Trojans!
During my 40 years as a teacher I have taken on many different responsibilities, such as Science and Math club sponsor, California Scholarship Federation sponsor, teacher of Advanced Placement Biology and so much more. Currently I am teaching Biology and Honors (SAS) Biology. In addition to mycurent teaching responsibilities I am proud to be one of several coaches for our national ranking Academic Decathlon team. I am also the coordinator of our School for Advanced Studies (SAS) and a proud member of the small learning community known as CAPA.
