My name is Daniel Martinez and I am an RSP Teacher & Head Cross Country Coach at Garfield High School. I was born and raised in Boyle Heights. After graduating from Salesian High School in 1980, I attended Pasadena City College and eventually graduated from University of California, Irvine. After spending 8 years as a substitute teacher at several schools, I began a full-time position at Garfield in 1996. In 2012, I added the position of Head Cross Country Coach. Thanks to our students, staff, and entire Garfield family, I feel extremely fortunate to be at Garfield.
