Hi there!  I'm Anna Macias-Salas and I am proud to say that I have been teaching Mathematics at Garfield for almost 32 years!  

 

I'm even more proud to say that I was born and raised in East Los Angeles, I attended 4th Street Elementary, Griffith Jr. High, and I'm a Garfield Alum, class of '____  :).  I earned my B.A. in Mathematics & M.S. in Education from USC.  (GO TROJANS!!!)

 

Even more, all of my 8 siblings graduated from Garfield as well!

 

On a more personal note, I've known my hubby (Mario) for 35 years, we've been married for over 21 years, and we have 2 beautiful daughters (Andrea and Marianna) and 5 spoiled dogs (Bella, Nicko, Appa, Boots, and a new addition to our family, Chubbs (a Garfield Bulldog)!- sadly my husky Max passed away in May 2021).  

Currently, I am a proud faculty member of Garfield's Magnet School.  I am teaching Precalculus &  Geometry AB this 24-25 school year.

 

My motto is "MATH IS BEAUTIFUL (AND FUN)!" (even though my students might disagree..haha)
