Ms. Dominguez
Welcome Garfield Students and Families!
Hello everyone! My name is Ms. Dominguez and I am one of the English teachers in the Humanitas learning community. I was born and raised in Pasadena, California, but have the honor and privilege of teaching at Garfield High School. I am a first-generation college graduate from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) with a Bachelor's in Sociology, and minors in Education and Chicano/a/x Studies. I am also currently in the process of completing my Masters in Education at UCLA.
This year, I have the honor of teaching juniors and seniors as they prepare for life after high school. Community is super important in my classroom, so one quote that I live by is, "It takes a village." In my class, students will be working together and sharing their knowledge with one another, to expand their vision of the world and understand the world through one another's perspectives. In my class, students will also set goals at the beginning of the year, and monitor their progress and growth as they accomplish those goals. I look forward to seeing all of the amazing things that the Garfield bulldogs achieve!
