Hello everyone and welcome! My name is Anna Robles, and I have been teaching Spanish for 28 years. I was born and raised in East Los Angeles and attended Ford Blvd. Elementary, Griffith Middle School, and Garfield H.S. Coming back to teach in my community has been in all honesty a gratifying experience. I am also fortunate to say that I have been teaching my entire career here at Garfield High School. Throughout my years at Garfield, I have taught all levels of Spanish, coached the Girls Golf Team, sponsored the Color Guard team for many years, and sponsored several senior classes. I received my Bachelors of Art degree in Spanish and Secondary Teaching Credential from Cal State L.A. I am married and blessed with three wonderful children that keep me extremely busy watching them play sports.

The understanding of learning a second language is such an essential tool for everyone. Bilingualism is truly important in this culturally diverse world we live in. My goal is for you to embrace the Spanish language and to practice it as often as possible with friends and family. Retaining the skills acquired and becoming comfortable with Spanish is the pathway of truly becoming bilingual. My goal is to prepare and encourage every student to take A.P Spanish Language, but must of all, to be proud of being a Spanish speaking Latino. My most rewarding moments have been to see several of my former students become Spanish teachers.

I sincerely look forward to watching you succeed this school year. I am truly glad that we are back at Garfield in the classroom and very happy to be your teacher.
