WELCOME/ Bienvenidos
My name is Patricia Patino. For 17 years, I taught dual language/ multiple subject at the elementary school level in LAUSD. This is my second year at Garfield High School as I made the transition to teaching high school special education alternate curriculum. I am honored to be part of a school with such rich history and pride in the community.
I am Mexican-American, daughter of immigrants. I grew up in Los Angeles and attended LAUSD schools from elementary to high school. I have a passion for bilingual education and encourage my students and families to embrace their language and culture. I am looking forward to teaching special education where I will .motivate and encourage my students to succeed!
In my free time, I enjoy hiking, picnicking :) , traveling domestically and internationally, and exploring our beautiful, diverse city of Los Angeles. I like learning about other cultures, traditions, religions, food, and history. In the last couple of years, I have started visiting baseball stadiums around the country with my son--we hope to visit all 30 MLB stadiums. :)
Feel free to contact me with any question and/or concerns. I look forward to working with you. We are a team--let's work together to help the students reach their goals and highest potential.
