Bio
Hello, my name is Jose A Andrade. This is 14th year teaching at Garfield High School. I am dedicated to helping Garfield students improve their reading and writing skills as they gain a deeper understanding of history and the American political system. I am excited to work with students and their families in a journey of learning that will prepare them for success after they leave Garfield.
I was born and raised in East Los Angeles but lived outside of LAUSD's boundary. I graduated from Schurr HS in Montebello, then attended Pasadena City College. I transferred and received my bachelors degree (BA Social Science) from San Diego State University. My teaching credential was earned at Cal State LA. After a few years of teaching, I continued my education at UCLA where I earned a masters degree and administrative credential.
