For the past few years, the school has had The Two Million Word Campaign. It was revamped last school year, and under the coordination of Mr. Jeff Garcia, students were given medals, pins and certificates to recognize the students’ accomplishments.

 

The purpose of the campaign is three-fold: to have our students accomplish the reading bar set forth by the California State Frameworks, to increase our students’ literacy levels which contributes to higher student achievement, and most importantly, to help students develop a love for reading to teach them how to be life-long learners.
