Through the LAUSD program "The Aspen Challenge", Garfield students are committed to making a change in their community! Their group is called "The Power of Change". They have started a campaign to raise funds, through donations, to aid those in poverty.
They are also committed to raising the awareness, empathy and collaboration in the community. The Power of Change group desires to bring hope to those in their community.
Despite poverty issues, students continue achieving high academic goals. The fact remains that many students are struggling day by day.
Please help! Donate to The Power of Change, by dropping your extra change in the container located in the school’s Main Office. On Monday, February 9, boxes will be distributed to classrooms.
