When the McDonald's Classic Basketball Tournament rolls into town Dec. 12-14 it will do more than pit hometown rivals the Eastwood Troopers against the Coronado T-birds.
This year, the basketball tournament is drawing top talent from across the Southwest to give El Paso high school players -- both boys and girls -- the chance to test their skills on the court and to meet peers from around the region.
For the first time the classic is bringing in teams from California. East Los Angeles's James A. Garfield High School is sending both its boys' and girls' team and the Eagle Rock High Schools boys' team will be competing in the classic.
When we find out how our teams are doing we will try to post it as soon as possible!
