JROTC visits the Space Shuttle Endeavour

On February 13, 2013 at 6:00 pm our Bulldawg Battalion participated in an exciting event at the California Science Center.  The evening included a formal dinner where the dining tables were laid out directly underneath the port wing of the Endeavour.

Two former astronauts were the guest speakers at the event: the legendary Colonel Buzz Aldrin, the second man to walk on the moon, and shuttle astronaut Garrett Reisman, who made two trips to space, one of which was on the shuttle Endeavour.

Both men talked about their experiences in space and their hopes for the future of the US Space Program. In addition they had a private viewing of the shuttle exhibits and associated film.

The California Science Center won the hard-fought competition to get the Endeavour for LA, and their plans for the final display, which has the shuttle in a vertical, take-off ready position.
