On Saturday January 19, 2013 the Garfield High School Army JROTC had the distinct honor once again to kick off the 28th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. parade. The members were able to celebrate the legacy of a great man who fought for justice and equality.
The Los Angeles Kingdom Day Parade is the largest celebration of Dr. King's birthday in the country. The parade was televised and broadcast by local radio and television stations in California, as well as, across the country.
Again, the Mighty Bulldawg members are proud and honored each year to be a part of the celebration to help commemorate Dr. Martin Luther King's birthday. Garfield High school was well represented along with the Garfield High School Marching Band, as well as the JROTC's Elite Color Guard, Marching Unit, parent members and Armed/Unarmed Drill Teams.
Many thanks to our school administration who continue to support all programs! Garfield High School Army JROTC continues to lead the way in the Los Angeles Unified School District.
