The women’s gym at East Los Angeles College was full of energy and excitement from the fans as they helped cheer on the Lady Bulldogs to a resounding victory. The 58-42 score is not a good indicator of how competitive and intense the game really was. The Garfield girls were able to pull off the win with the help from Dioseline Lopez, Mizhrua Bautista, Macy Donlucas, Alexis Valles and Elsie Mejia. These players were the key to the girl's success throughout the tournament.
Dioseline Lopez was selected as the Tournament MVP scoring 19 points and handing out 10 assists in the championship game. Macy Donlucas helped the lady bulldogs with 11 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Macy was selected to the All Tournament Team along with teammate Elsie Mejia who scored 12 points. The girls finished the four-day tournament 4-0 and served as preparation for their next tournament in Kona Hawaii.
Johnson scored 21 points for University High Wildcats.
