Alejandra Castillo, a B-track honors Humanitas student, won 1st Place in Division III (11th and 12th grade) of the City of Los Angeles’ Time to Write Creative Writing Competition celebrating Latino Heritage Month 2009.
In addition to getting to meet Mayor Villaraigosa, Alejandra won a laptop from Time Warner Cable and tickets to Disneyland. Alejandra is not new to being recognized for her writing. She was a winner in last year’s Poetry Out Loud contest and recently had her writing published in a WriteGirl publication.
Way to go Alejandra!
