Memoir As I sit with coffee mug in hand planning my Sunday outing, I can't help but take a few minutes to take in the events of my yesterdays. A realization of how time truly does pass so quickly.
Wasn't it just yesterday that I met Kathy at Griffith on the first day of the 7th grade and we became inseparable?
Wasn't it just yesterday I fell madly in love at Garfield, he was the love of my life, the guy I would marry and live happily ever after with?
High school is a time learning not just of the academics but of yourself, your strengths, weaknesses, hopes and dreams. I now realize how much high school had a hand in my growth. I appreciate my Bulldog roots more than ever.
Having just returned from the Jaime Escalante ribbon cutting ceremony I find myself filled with pride in having been part of this historic school.
I met several kids from the class of 2014 I also met Chaz Thomas class of 1950. Like the youngsters performing, he too beamed with pride. We spoke of the past and compared it with the present, like us, it's kids learning about themselves, their strengths, weaknesses, their hopes and dreams.
Thru the years I've heard that "Once a Bulldog, always a Bulldog" I find that to be true.
