Memoir As a little more than a decade has passed by, I look back and I have so many memories of Garfield High School.

There is one though that sticks more than others. I remember the time when I was actually discouraged to not take a course I wanted because the teacher did not feel I was capable of it. I honestly never thought a teacher would do that but it happened. As I walked to my 4th period class that day, a friend that I really admired asked me what had happened. He told me not to worry, that that teacher did not know what he was talking about and to not let it affect me because more than anything I was very determined. I calmed down and thought maybe he was saying it just to say it.

As time went on, I saw what my friend had seen in me. Now I am happy to say to that teacher and anyone who has tried to break me, sorry to disappoint you but I HAVE NO BREAKING POINT. I have found my strength because of the people who stood by me and never let me forget it. I thank the people I met at GHS but especially S.P. (The Best Bulldog Mascot with the Best Swag).
