Memoir Transfering from New York to Garfield High in my Junior and Senior years were not only dramatic but unforgetable. I played JV basketball with Otta and my friends, Maria Gonzalez and Brenda Morales, Trina, etc..also played softball JV with the same gang.I was also a junior cadet with the ROTC which trained me in so many ways and taugh me so much to date. Those years at Garfield were certainly the best youth years of my life. Garfield memories have forever stayed in my heart. Mr. Palacios was an important person who marked my life in so many ways and whom I had the opportunity to see again a few years ago when I visited Garfield with my children from New York. For those who are now Garfield High students, I would give anything to be in your shoes...Loved it loved it...
